Fall Protection

Having a full understanding of the concept of fall protection and what it entails as well as how to effectively install a system is the fundamental concern in these sessions. Explaining to all participants what Fall arrest/Fall restraint is, when to is mandatory to wear protective equipment, how to utilize it properly, how to properly inspect their equipment is all covered.

Looking into other fall protection system such as safety nets and guardrails which are two effective means of fall protection that may be used in certain situations are also explained and discussed.
Participants will walk away with the ability to know what type of system is needed for the task they are conducting, how to assess their situations to ensure that they are doing their due diligence in respect to the safety of all, as well as how to fill out all necessary documentation that is need during a task that requires a fall protection system

Course Outline:

Discuss duties of employer, supervisor, worker

Specific regulations pertaining to when fall protection is required

Review and discuss falling hazards specific to your situation(s)

The physics of fall arrest

Harness inspection prior to each use

Capacity of fall arrest equipment

Proper connection to anchor points

Donning & fitting a harness *each participant will demonstrate they have an understanding of this

Know how to use the harness and make appropriate adjustment for correct fit

Proper storage of harnesses

Inspection of fall protection system

How to create a rescue plan

Explanations of all fall protection systems: guardrails, safety nets, fall arrest/restraint

Quiz to verify the learning

How long does it take?
The theory portion of the course will take approximately 1.5 hours to conduct;

Where is the course held?
Fall Protection sessions can be held at a convenient place for the employees.

Who Should Attend Fall And Arrest Training?
All employees who may come into a situation where a fall from heights or into hazardous materials may take place should take this course.
